Kick-off of EUSOME Mentoring Activities, Belgrade, Serbia, 20-21 May 2025
As part of the EUSOME project’s Pillar 2 initiative on training and mentoring (Task 3.1), the first Study Visit took place in Serbia from 19 to 22 May 2025. Two researchers from the Space Research Centre of the Polish Academy of Sciences (SRC PAS) —Emil Wrzosek and Anna Kobierzycka—traveled to Belgrade to assess training needs and strengthen collaboration with Serbian partners. The visit was hosted and coordinated by the Mihajlo Pupin Institute (IMP) team, led by Valentina Janev and Slavica Boštjančič Rakas.
The visit was structured over two main days of activities. On the first day, discussions held at the IMP Technology Transfer Office focused on the EUSOME project’s objectives, the scope of WP3, and the design of the mentoring program tailored to the Serbian ecosystem’s needs. The conversations emphasized collaboration and knowledge exchange opportunities within the consortium and explored ways to best support early adopters and stakeholders in Serbia.
The second day took place at the 67th International Fair of Technics and Technical Achievements at the Belgrade Fair, a significant event showcasing technological innovations and bringing together numerous organizations. During the Fair, the delegation networked with a range of key stakeholders, including representatives from research institutes, universities, and commercial enterprises. These valuable connections will foster future collaboration and support the advancement of Advanced Air Mobility technologies in Serbia.
Looking forward, the mentoring program will proceed with further study visits planned for 2025 and 2026, aiming to involve a broader range of national stakeholders and early adopters. These efforts will support capacity building, facilitate knowledge transfer, and accelerate the adoption of Advanced Air Mobility and U-space regulatory frameworks in Serbia and the wider region.
Stay tuned for more updates on EUSOME mentoring activities and upcoming training opportunities.
