EUSOME Showcased at the University of Cyprus Summer Academies, 4 July 2025
On Friday, 4 July, Prof. Panayiotis Kolios presented the EUSOME Excellence Hub at the University of Cyprus (UCY) Summer Academies, engaging with high school and technical school students participating in the “Engineering & Technology Applications” Academy.
The University of Cyprus Summer Academies aim to give high school students a taste of university life, help them explore potential fields of study through direct interaction with academic staff, promote the University of Cyprus as a first choice for top‑performing students, and further strengthen the University’s outreach to society.
During the session, students were introduced to Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) and EUSOME’s pioneering research on safe autonomous flight, drone guidance frameworks, and city‑wide path planning. The presentation highlighted how these innovations can contribute to safer skies and enable new mobility services in both urban and regional environments.
Through this dissemination activity, EUSOME helped raise awareness among the next generation of researchers and engineers, inspiring them to consider careers in AAM and related fields, while showcasing the societal impact of our work.
